| The orientation of cleavage planes is also very important. To the right are very different samples. They look very similar and both have 3 directions of cleavage but they can easily be distinguished from one another by the orientation of thier cleavage planes. One has cleavage planes orientaed at 90o and the other displays angles not at 90o (we call it a rhombahedral). Which sample on the right is the same as the sample above? |  |
